My English professor asked us to write a poem about a past or a current intimate love. I had no one else in mind so I had no choice. This doesn’t necessarily mean that I am still into him. That is soooo long over. This is very brief, though. I had a lot more to write but I only had 5 minutes because I am such a lazy bum and I’d rather play Block’d on my phone than do my homework. So here it goes:
When I look into your eyes
It’s like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
It makes me feel like I can fly
We were once like the mountains
Immovable and indestructible
Love nourished the relationship it sustains
But somehow it’s still impossible
For you, without hesitation, I fell
Maybe there’s something about your name, Emmanuel
After all that’s been said and done,
I can’t believe that you’re now gone.
Although this love has died,
I still thank you for the ride
If not for you, I would not know sacrifice
I’m still grateful though love won’t suffice.
